So this weekend like 30 of us went to Heath's lake house on Eagle Mountain Lake. It was one for the most fun weekends I have ever had. It was so great to meet and hang out with so many awesome people. I feel so blessed to go to the school I do, and to be with the people there. It was cool because all 30 or so of us got along so incredibly well. And it's always fun introducing people to the greatness that is Fort Worth. I really miss F-Dub when I am in Abilene, because it has the entertainment options of a big city, yet also a small-town feel to it.
On a completely different note, I learned today that a former Birdville student and a person many of my friends loved died in a car accident. From what I knew of him, James Harris was a really good guy, and it sucks when something like this happens. But this tragedy really got me thinking as well. Sometimes you hear about people who choose not to believe in God because of all the hurt and the pain in the world, and how a soul could possibly inflict such suffering on people. But my view is that a person's belief in God should only be strengthens by the pain of the world. If there was no God, why on Earth would any of us put up with the sicknesses that plague the world? What would be the point of it all? God puts these things in our lives to make us realize how much we need him, and how much he wants us to be close to him. Through tragedy we should help strengthen one another's beliefs, and help people realize that even though it may seem like he is nowhere in sight, God is always there.
